As announced on Jan 30th, the community has proposed the formation of a Radix Accountability Council (RAC). The proposal suggested a council be established immediately to help guide the transition from the Radix Foundation to a future community-led structure.
A consultation ran from Jan 30th to Feb 6th on both the size and initial members of this council. With over 1.34 Billion XRD from 1,151 unique accounts giving input, this consultation has a strong mandate that provides the legitimacy required for the RAC to operate effectively.
Part 1: The Size of the Council
We asked how many members the initial RAC should contain to ensure effective operations without gridlock. Using approval voting, token holders indicated which sizes they were comfortable with.
The Results:
- 5 Members: 740,703,998 XRD (Winner)
- Percentage: 56.91%
- 7 Members: 658,334,015 XRD
- Percentage: 50.58%
- 9 Members: 148,976,562 XRD
- Percentage: 11.45%
- 3 Members: 106,342,273 XRD
- Percentage: 8.17%
Total Participating Stake: 1,301,510,483 XRD (Note: Due to Approval Voting, percentages sum to greater than 100%)
Part 2: The Members
Because the community selected a 5-person council, the top 5 nominees with the highest total approval weight have been elected.
The voting showed incredibly high consensus for the top three candidates, followed by a tight race for the final two seats.

Next Steps
The data tells a clear story about the community's intent.
1. High Alignment The top candidates had beyond super majority of all XRD weighted input. This suggests that the community is not polarized; rather, there is a broad consensus with all elected members having significantly over the majority of vote share.
2. The "Approval" Effect The gap between the 5th seat (projectShift) and the 6th (Tadas) was remarkably thin, less than 2 million XRD. This highlights the importance of every vote. In an approval system, broadly acceptable candidates rise to the top, ensuring the council represents the widest possible segment of the network.
3. A Balance of Skills The elected 5 represent a diverse mix of node runners, dApp builders, and community educators. This cross-functional expertise is exactly what is needed to facilitate the operational tasks of the transition.
As stated in the community proposal, these five members are facilitators, not commanders. Their immediate remit is to:
- Establish the operational framework for the Council.
- Begin coordinating the administrative tasks required for the 2026 transition.
- Act as the primary interface between the community's will and the Foundation's execution during this handover period.
Congratulations to the elected members, the Foundation looks forward to working with you all. And thank you to the 1,151 token holders who participated in this consultation.
