The start of the next wave of DeFi is coming to Radix in just a few months. For those looking to launch dApps soon after the Babylon mainnet upgrade, say hello to Babylon Booster Grants. Babylon Booster Grants is an initiative to further strengthen the foundations of what’ll become an even more successful and thriving ecosystem post the Radix Mainnet Babylon upgrade, coming September 27th 2023. 

What is the Babylon Booster Grant? 

After the successful launch of cohort one in the Radix Grants Program, it is critical to continue supporting the teams that will be launching at Babylon. In order to be more flexible and to better support the multitude of teams involved, the next phase of Radix Grants will see the launch of the Babylon Booster Grant: a unique opportunity for the first dApps to launch at Babylon to receive XRD with a value of up to $10k USD. 

Additionally, teams and projects building on Radix will be invited to participate in the Babylon launch campaign and will also have co-marketing opportunities with the main Radix channels to help promote their dApp to a wider audience.

Who can apply

To be eligible for the Babylon Booster Grant, projects must have an MVP ready to be launched within 6 weeks post-Babylon upgrade. It is important to note that the Babylon mainnet upgrade will be a rollout rather than a single day event, and we expect teams to have at least an MVP running within 6 weeks of that. 

The MVP doesn’t need to be the full product but should be enough to get users excited and engaged. 

To support the balanced growth of the ecosystem, preference will be made to dApps that fit within one of the following categories: DEX, stablecoin, lending, insurance, futures, options, derivatives, portfolio management and yield farming, NFT marketplace, gaming, oracles, DAO, aggregators, launchpads, and ecosystem services. Please note that NFT collections are not eligible for Babylon Booster Grants.

To apply for the Babylon Booster Grant, interested teams must fill out the application form linked below. Selected teams will be invited for a 10-minute interview between June 7-21st. If selected, teams will receive XRD worth $10k USD to be paid once their dApp is live on the Radix Mainnet.

Projects that participated in cohort 1 of the Radix Grants Program can apply to the Babylon Booster Grant. Projects who will be selected for the Babylon Booster Grant will be able to apply to the second cohort of the Radix Grants Program.
