TL;DR: The 1 billion XRD Radix Rewards campaign is ready. But should we launch now, or wait ~4–6 weeks for Hyperlane and a better onboarding experience? We believe waiting could significantly amplify the campaign's impact, but we want your input before making a final call.
Over the past few months, the Radix community has watched the Radix Rewards incentives campaign take shape, from proposal to last week's public test. The Public Test was a major step forward. It proved that the backend logic, activity tracking, and XRD multiplier system all function as expected. In short, the system's foundations are ready.
Here’s what was tested:
- User activity across 5 dApps (CaviarNine, Ociswap, DeFiPlaza, Root Finance, and WEFT Finance).
- Usage of bridged assets (xUSDC, xwBTC, xETH, xUSDT), and we're ready to include 7 native Radix altcoins, although this wasn't tested.
- Fees paid, components interacted with, and real user behaviour.
- XRD multiplier logic (balances of XRD, LSU, LSULP, and dApp deposits).
The system held up, and feedback has helped us refine both the logic and user experience. The front-end is now being polished, and final tweaks are underway. We could launch within 2 weeks.
There is a strategic question we would like to ask the community first.
Should we wait until Hyperlane is live to launch the campaign?
There’s already been community debate across Telegram and in DMs, with strong arguments both for launching now and for waiting. A poll was also created in a community channel, attracting over 170 votes. The result was close, 56% in favour v’s 44% against.
Given the importance of the incentives campaign in our long-term strategy, and that the topic was raised by the community, we’re bringing the question to you formally rather than making the decision unilaterally.
Having read the initial discussions and been involved in them since, here’s why we think it might be worth the short delay:
- Better onboarding = better outcomes. With Hyperlane, users can bring assets from 100+ chains directly into Radix with less friction. That means a smoother onboarding experience, fewer drop-offs, and a broader user base from day one.
- The wait is short, and well defined. Hyperlane is on track for code completion by mid-August. Audits are scheduled. Mainnet deployment is likely in late August.
- The ecosystem will shift. Once Hyperlane goes live, new wrapped versions of tokens like USDC and ETH will become the default. Launching before that risks confusion or disruption mid-season.
- Avoiding mid-season pivots. Switching incentivized assets or flows partway through a campaign is a headache for users, dApps, and the rewards system. Waiting avoids unnecessary friction.
- We can launch with more. A few extra weeks allow us an opportunity to support more assets, refine the front-end, and polish the campaign UX based on test feedback.
- A stronger first impression. Launching alongside Hyperlane and the Hyperscale testnet sends a powerful signal about the Radix ecosystem’s momentum.
We’re not suggesting perfection over progress. But we’ve also learnt, painfully in the past, that launches matter. A great campaign experience will help drive sustained usage, capital, and ecosystem growth.
That said, we know there are good arguments for launching sooner. Some in the community may prefer momentum now over strategy later. That’s why we’re putting it to you.

You can choose:
- Launch ASAP with the current MVP setup.
- Wait for Hyperlane and launch with broader reach and less friction.
Thanks for helping shape what comes next.
