At the start of Alexandria, Scrypto was launched in its first public release to the developer community and from this, we kickstarted the Developer Program. As with any other incentive program, to motivate people to submit examples of their first blueprints we offered a reward of $75 in XRD should their blueprints be successfully accepted.
It has been quite a journey sharing the enthusiasm and feedback with the community helping shape Scrypto along the way. As we see the outlines of Babylon’s emergence, we are ready to aggressively step up our efforts to create energy and excitement around Scrypto. Part of that plan is to expand our Dev program to include more incentives.
The initial $75 in XRD reward was to get a taste of what blueprints could potentially look like, explore the design space, figure out what could be possible, and have some fun. We see more evidence with each submission by the community that Scrypto can not only replicate existing DeFi applications with ease, but furthermore, extend its features. This is an impressive feat and we want you to rattle your brains to think big and truly show the wider audience where we can take DeFi. By learning from the pains we saw in the DeFi space this year, let’s show the world how Scrypto can evolve this space to new heights.
So with that being said, here’s the outline of how we want to expand the Dev Program:
Important note: incentives are not grants. The incentives are there to reward developers who are using Scrypto and support the community with great code examples. RDX Works officially launched its first grants program in 2023 and with all spaces allocated for the first cohort to projects that are wanting to launch at Babylon, information on how you apply for the second cohort in Q2 2023 and also be a part of Babylon, sign up to the developer mailing list or Scrypto Developer Program to be updated on the grant program. In order to receive incentives, you must be registered to the Developer Program
