Runs On Radix Q&A: emoteCare

October 17, 2023

In an era where mental health is increasingly becoming a focal point of holistic well-being, the need for secure, convenient, and comprehensive mental health solutions is more pressing than ever. Enter emoteCare, a groundbreaking project built on the Radix network that is poised to redefine the landscape of mental health services.

TLDR

  • emoteCare is a mental health platform built on the Radix network, offering a comprehensive suite of tools for both clients and therapists, including digital journaling, mood tracking, and data aggregation.

  • Founded by Booker Woodford and Joe Morse, who have backgrounds in psychotherapy and clinical mental health, the platform aims to provide secure, ethical, and efficient mental health care solutions.

  • With a focus on user testing and feedback, emoteCare is on track to reach a pilot phase by the end of the year and aims to launch its first two features by Q1 2024.

What is emoteCare: Progressing Mental Health Services With DLT

emoteCare believes that utilizing DLT has several benefits, such as data privacy and security through encryption, fostering transparency and trust, and facilitating seamless and secure data exchange between healthcare providers, enabling global access to remote mental health services.

Core Products

emoteCare is not just another digital therapy platform; it's a complete mental health ecosystem equipped with a robust set of tools and infrastructure designed for both therapy provision and well-being. At its core, emoteCare offers:

Digital Journaling: A secure space for clients to document their thoughts and feelings.

Mood Tracking: Real-time mood assessment tools to help both clients and therapists monitor emotional well-being.

Collaborative Tools: Features, such as a digital whiteboard and worksheet templates, to enable seamless interaction between therapists and clients.

Data Aggregation Dashboard: A comprehensive dashboard that aggregates various data points to provide a holistic view of a client's mental health journey through bitesize animations.

Note Management: An intuitive and industry-compliant admin and filing system that provides each user full ownership over their version of a document.

Ai Digital Companion: Whether it’s helping to navigate the website, signposting to services, or checking in on users who have journaled about anxiety a lot recently, emoteCare’s AI digital companion is designed to be useful throughout a person’s emoteCare journey.

Target Users

emoteCare primarily serves two distinct yet interconnected demographics:

Clients: Aged between 18-35, these are tech-savvy individuals seeking convenient and secure avenues for therapy and well-being support.

Therapists: Professionals aged between 25-55 who are already providing online therapy but are in search of an all-in-one solution to streamline their practice.

Unique Selling Propositions

emoteCare positions itself away from competitors in several ways:

  • All in one approach: The current marketplace is fragmented, causing users the pain of needing to spread their mental health journey across several different pieces of software. emoteCare relieves this pain point by delivering a holistic approach to mental health care on both sides of the marketplace. A suite of wellbeing tools supplement the therapy provision; along with things such as admin management, note management, collaborative therapy tools and peer reflection spaces.
  •  Greater security: Encryption via the Radix wallet plus decentralised storage solutions deliver emoteCare far greater security than what currently exists in the market. A welcome improvement for the most hacked industry in the world.
  • Better matching: With granular search parameters with a focus on diversity, emoteCare connects clients to therapists that better represent their needs.
  • Progress tracking: Through AI inferences that produce bitesize animations, emoteCare allows its users to track and share their mental health journey.
  • Flexibility: By allowing therapists to create their own business model, including fees and T&Cs, emoteCare provides greater autonomy on both sides of the marketplace.

Why emoteCare Could be a Game-Changer

emoteCare is not just unique; it's revolutionary. While there are other platforms in the mental health space, none offer the level of security, convenience, and comprehensiveness that emoteCare does. Moreover, the platform's unique architecture, built on the Radix network and integrated with the Radix wallet, places it in a league of its own.

By addressing critical issues such as data security and fragmentation in the mental health industry, emoteCare is not just another service; it's a complete ecosystem that brings clients and therapists together in a secure, efficient, and mutually beneficial environment.

The Genesis of EmoteCare: A Visionary Leap in Digital Mental Health

The Founders: A Perfect Blend of Passion and Expertise

When it comes to the inception of emoteCare, two names stand out: Booker Woodford and Joe Morse. Both hailing from the UK, their friendship dates back 25 years to their days at secondary school. Their unique backgrounds and shared passion for mental health care make them the perfect duo to lead this revolutionary project.

Booker Woodford, a qualified Psychotherapist who moved from the UK to Australia to work as a Community Mental Health Practitioner. His passion lies in delivering ethical, safe, and effective mental health care to those most in need.

Joe Morse, on the other hand, began his career with the NHS as a Clinical Mental Health Social Worker before relocating to Australia. There, he worked for Melbourne's largest hospital as a Clinical Mental Health Case Worker. Morse is driven by the desire to create secure, elegant solutions for mental health care that are accessible to everyone.

The Journey to Web3 and Radix

Their friendship and mutual interest in Web3 tech led them to discover Radix in 2018. Intrigued by the potential of Web3 to solve some of the most pressing issues in the mental health sector, they spent three months researching before diving headfirst into the development of emoteCare.

The Vision Behind EmoteCare

The inception of emoteCare was fueled by a vision to create a safe, secure digital therapy platform that empowers users through data ownership. The founders were particularly inspired by the capabilities of the upcoming Radix wallet, which offered solutions to the challenges they aimed to address in an industry where data integrity is paramount.

Why Radix?

The choice to build on Radix was a strategic one. The Radix wallet, with its asset-oriented approach and focus on UX/UI, offered unique advantages that were aligned with emoteCare's goals. The Radix tech stack provided them with native toolkits and smart accounts for personal data sharing, allowing for granular control over digital assets like badges and passwords.

The Road Ahead

The biggest objective for the emoteCare team is ensuring a constant stream of users from both sides of the marketplace for product testing. Their approach to this challenge is multi-faceted, involving extensive user testing and feedback loops. Looking ahead, they aim to reach a pilot phase by the end of the year, followed by the launch of their first two features and a go-to-market strategy for Q1 2024.
