Radix Rewards Season 1 is nearly here. But before the main event kicks off, it’s time to unlock an extra boost for those who backed Radix through the grind: Season 0.
We’ve debated the best way to do this. The goal was always clear; recognize the community’s commitment during the toughest times, while keeping the focus on growing Season 1, not diluting it.
Here’s the outcome:

Why We Designed It This Way
1. Loyalty counts, but action wins
If you held through the hardest months, you deserve recognition. But it wouldn’t be fair for those who left the community to receive the same reward as those who stayed. Season 0 makes sure loyalty matters, while ensuring that only those who step up in Season 1 get paid.
2. Keeping it fair and simple
We tested a bunch of options: counting dApp usage, LPs, fees. Every approach created loopholes or distortions. In the end, XRD and XRD derivatives (LSUs, LSULP, and XRD deposited in dApps/pools tracked in Season 1) came out as the fairest measure of who was backing Radix. Not perfect, but it gets us closest to capturing real backing without overcomplicating the system.
3. Built for the system we’re shipping
A flat airdrop sounds neat, but it would either reward dead wallets or force us to cut people off early. Neither is good. Making Season 0 a Season 1 multiplier ensures only active, engaged users benefit, and it aligns perfectly with the way the Radix Rewards system is designed.
4. Protecting new users
Season 0 is extra. Season 1 rewards remain untouched. Everyone competes on the same playing field, while Season 0 gives long-term backers a well-earned boost.
How the Bonus Works
- For each of the last 52 weeks, we’ll snapshot XRD and derivatives held or deployed (where trackable with what we’ve built for Season 1).
- From that, we’ll calculate weekly Activity Points (AP), then convert them into Season Points (SP).
- Add up all 52 weeks, and you get your Season 0 activity score.
- That score translates into a Season 1 bonus, expected to range from +1% up to +20% on top of whatever you earn in Season 1.
But here’s the key: you only get it if you actively participate in Season 1.
Holding XRD alone does nothing. You have to show up, trade, LP, lend, stake. Passive whales get nothing. Active participants win. Season 0 isn’t about the past, it’s about kickstarting the future.
What This Means for You
- Season 0 rewards are a boost to your Season 1 rewards, not a handout.
- Past commitment is recognized, but participation today is what pays.
- No inactive wallets or double-counting. Those who return still have the chance to benefit as rewards unlock through participation in Season 1.
